3rd Annual Five Star Aloha Gala - Saturday, May 21, 2005
The HCCNC's annual celebration of the lifestyle and attitude of Aloha is set for Saturday, May 21 at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco. This wonderful black tie optional event will be highlighted by an incredible night of music, dancing, entertainment, food, drink and prizes. The evening will also include the presentation of the 3rd Annual Kulia I Ka Nu`u Awards honoring leaders and trailblazers in our community.

Kulia I Ka Nu`u Award Recipients Announced

HCCNC Seeking Volunteer Extraordinaire
As the HCCNC grows and engages in more activities throughout, it creates a need to have someone designated to manage volunteers. This "Volunteer Manager" position, is a volunteer position in itself, is primarily responsible for manage staffing of HCCNC events. The Volunteer Manager will collect & keep names of people interested in being event volunteers, and then organize the volunteers for each event. The Volunteer Manager will be the primary contact for event volunteers. If you are interested, please email membership@hccnc.com for more details.

Bay Area College Hawai`i Club Lu`au Information
The HCCNC's University Liaison Program is an outreach project to Hawai`i Clubs at Bay Area Colleges and Universities. The program provides networking, resources, events and opportunities for the students and their clubs. The annual culminating event for most Hawai`i Clubs is their Lu`au held each spring. The Lu`au allows Clubs to share the Hawaiian Culture with their respective campuses. The students dedicate hours of energy in preparation of the Hula, Food and Festivities. Congratulations to Bay Area Island Reggae Band One Groove on the release of their debut album Make Your Move. Their single Heartache is currently receiving much airplay in Hawai`i on 98.5, 95.9 (Kaua`i) and KCCN FM100. The band is comprised of ex-pats: Keone Catian, Chris Lavatai, Chris Canubida, Kris Kanoho, Jose Dangtayan, Hini Galuteria and Brent Nishikawa. April 23 Aloha Golf Tournament
On April 23rd, Island Moves Family Center/Halau Na Wai Ola will host the "Aloha Golf Tournament" at the Santa Clara Golf and Tennis Club. This fundraiser will go to help the students travel to Cesena, Italy. The halau has been invited to share the Hawaiian dance of the hula in the International Dance Grand Prix "Italy" 2005 to be held at the historical Bonci Theater.
Tournament Fees:
     Early Reg (on or before 3/1/05) Individual $195      Foursome $730
     Regular Fees (after 3/1/05) Individual $210      Foursome $790
     Non-Golfer Award Banquet (3:30 - 7:00 p.m.) $48
Tournament fees include: Green fee, mandatory cart, driving range practice, continental breakfast, plate lunch, awards banquet, souvenir photo and golf gift.
