Message from HCCNC President
Eric Tao
"I’m pleased to greet you through this premiere edition
of our e-newsletter, another way that the HCCNC works to promote
and build our community of kama’aina and kama’aina at heart.”
Chamber to serve as
organization of choice in the Bay Area
The HCCNC board recently approved a plan to position the Chamber
as the organization of choice in Northern California for Hawai`i
business organizations and higher education institutions.
UH Football Tailgate in Reno will be best ever
Kurt Osaki has been working hard, on the phone, on the iMac,
driving to meetings all the way in Reno, to get the Chamber
ready for what will be HCCNC's most successful tailgate. Imagine
a street party in the heart of downtown Reno with all the
Hawaiian entertainment, food and drink you could want!
More details to come in next month's newsletter!

New UH President to
visit Bay Area
Incoming UH President Dr. Evan S. Dobelle will be visiting
the Bay Area in a few months to meet with the Hawaii community.
He wants to learn about what people think about the University
of Hawai`i and share with you his thoughts on the future of
the institution.
Welcome new board members
At its last meeting the HCCNC board welcomed two new members:
Dave Kozuki and Scott Hayashi. Dave is Senior Strategic Alliances
Manager for Campbell-based Sylantro Systems. Scott is a tax
attorney at Deloitte & Touche in San Francisco.
