Chamber
To Serve As Organization of Choice in Bay Area
The HCCNC Board of Directors recently approved a plan to
position the Chamber as the organization of choice in Northern
California for Hawai`i business organizations and higher
education institutions.
Our organization’s success depends in large part on two
factors: the quality of our service to our members, and
the quality of our services to our community – in this case,
our home state of Hawai`i.
Your
Board already took a major step in improving membership
services by making individual memberships free. While that
is only the beginning, and much more work is planned in
this area, the change has significantly increased our membership
rolls.
We
must also labor to fulfill that part of our vision represented
in our slogan “Aloha is our business” by serving Hawai`i
business organizations and educational institutions. The
new plan approved by the Board created a Client Services
committee to build relationships with entities like the
Oahu Economic Development Board (OEDB) and the University
of Hawai`i through serving as their liaisons and guides
in the Bay Area.
HCCNC
has a track record in this area already. Through events
like the UH Tailgate, the university sees HCCNC as their
organization of choice when working on this event. Likewise,
business organizations like OEDB would like HCCNC’s help
in their efforts to develop Bay Area business interest in
Hawai`i.
The
Board members cannot do this effort on our own and we need
you help. Our success in serving Hawai`i business and educational
organizations will help the state become a better community
for our return, for those looking to eventually move back
home.
Daryl
Higashi and Keith Kamisugi are co-chairing the Client Services
committee and welcome your participation.
