Aloha
to the members of the Hawai`i Chamber of Commerce of Northern
California!
Aloha
to the HCCNC, I hope this newsletter finds you well.
I am asking all members to take a second and respond to
this question that I have pondered over the years and have
many answers for:
"What bonds all people from Hawai'i living in the mainland
like people from no other state in this country?"
We all know that there is a strong bond and tie, but it
is so fascinating as to how it evolved with such a diverse
blend of cultures and ethnicities all in one place. Please
email your thoughts to me at etao@hccnc.com and in the next
newsletter we will publish the thoughts of the collective
hccnc membership.
The HCCNC is continuing to grow as one of the primary organizations
to support the collective interests of the state of Hawai'i
and its businesses and governmental organizations. On July
25th several members of the board met privately with the
new president of the University
of Hawai'i, Dr. Evan Dobelle and impressed upon him
the need for the UH to both work with communities with an
interest in Hawai'i's future living in the Bay Area as well
as taking steps to make it attractive for the same communities
to either return or to send their future generations back
to Hawai'i.
There are many things happening in the coming months in
which the HCCNC will participate. We hope that you will
also be able to join these events. The first is the 7th
Annual Pacific Islanders' Cultural Association Aloha Fest.
Coming up in September will be the 3rd
Annual Road Warriors Tailgate, this year in Reno. We
encourage all of you to come to these events and meet the
board and executive members of the HCCNC and become more
involved.
Mahalo for your continued support and participation.
