New University of Hawai`i President Dobelle
has successful visit to Bay Area

On Wednesday July 25th, about 100 supporters of the University of Hawai`i gathered at San Francisco landmark Pacific Bell Park in the Third Street Club Level to meet new University of Hawai`i President Dr. Evan S. Dobelle. This was his first visit to the Bay Area as UH President.

Represented among the supporters were University of Hawai`i at Hilo, University of Hawai`i Foundation, University of Hawai`i Alumni Association and University of Hawai`i Alumni Association Bay Area Chapter. The HCCNC had an opportunity to meet with Dr. Dobelle to gain insight into the future of the University of Hawai`i. This was another step for the HCCNC in linking the Bay Area and Hawai`i.

Several topics covered by Dr. Dobelle during the reception included:

  > Promote Hawaiian issues
> Reach out and recruit quality students to attend the University of Hawai`i
> Plans to make frequent stops and visits in the Bay Area in the coming years.
> Standard of excellence for the University of Hawai`i
