Due
to the tragic events which occurred on September 11, the
University of Hawai`i at Reno Football Game was postponed
and the tailgate planned for Harrah's that weekend was canceled.
The game was rescheduled for the following week, and the
HCCNC organized a local style potluck tailgate for Hawai`i
Fans attending the game. As a show of support, the HCCNC
sold green T-Shirts with "United We Stand", the
Hawai`i Logo, HCCNC Logo and Stars and Stripes in white.
The proceeds of the shirts went to the relief fund for the
FDNY. The shirts were a hit with not only Hawai`i Fans,
but Reno Fans as well.
The HCCNC would like to thank Eric Kubota who played an
instrumental part in being able to pull off the event in
less than a week doing much of the busy work and opening
his house to the HCCNC to prep the food.
